Our Junior Firefighters are a group of young members ranging from age 14 to 17. These members are an important part to this department. This young group of boys and girls are inspired to help their community and have that opportunity through this program. They also learn through discipline and training, the steps to becoming firefighters. This program was established to teach them about fire safety but grew to a great addition of our membership roles. The duties of our members include, station clean up, apparatus checks, some equipment checks & maintenance. They attend monthly drills for furthering their education and assist Active Firefighters with some tasks. They have limited contact on a fire scene but may assist with changing out air cylinders, refill air cylinders, clean of tools after an incident. They are a great help after an incident when crews are getting fire apparatus and equipment back into service.
